To join in our ABTA discussion list at yahoogroups, you can register at:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ABTAdiscuss/

Alternatively, you can email Maggie Sparrow  with your request to join the ABTA Discussion Group, although it's far better for you to register directly.  This allows you to establish preferences, etc.  You will be added to the circulation list. If you don't like receiving 6-10 individual emails a day, you can ask to go on 'digest' which sends one email every day or so with all the messages included. You can also read the messages on the yahoogroups ABTA web page.  This allows you to access past messages.  We have had some interesting discussions!

This is our online discussion group conducted by email. Accessed at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/ABTAdiscuss It is moderated, which means that when someone sends in an email question or comment, I (or Pat Harrington) have to approve the message before it is posted. When it is posted, it gets sent by email to everyone who subscribes. Sometimes there is a flurry of activity, other times it is quiet. We have currently 219 members who subscribe to this. The ‘files’ section of this web site has some very useful material for teachers to use. The older ‘messages’ can be read on the web site, and go back to 1999.

Some of the discussion topics this year included:
August 2009 : Help with creating a website, asked for and given.
September 2009 : Whether we teach ‘duplicate’ or ‘social’ bridge.
October 2009 : Some discussion of how to use the ‘that was easy’ button.
October 2009 : Help for using Dealmaster and ACBLscore on a MAC
November 2009 : Request for help with Bridge Basics 1, several offers.

June 2010 : Cuebids looking for a stopper, and help with teaching this. After some discussion, good summary from an experienced teacher.
