Nomination Forms

For Students

Students who wish to nominate their teacher should first check that their teacher is eligible and willing to accept a nomination, then complete the online nomination form by clicking the button below.


Deadline for nominating a teacher: May 25, 2026.

 

To nominate a teacher, students must meet the following requirements:

You must have your teacher’s permission for nomination

Only individual teachers are eligible for nomination

Nominations must be submitted by a single person, the “primary nominator”; additional students may sign on to the nomination form as “supporting nominators” by uploading a file with names, emails, and testimonials along with the nomination form (see below)

No previous winner is eligible for a second award, but previous nominees may be nominated again, in future years

The nominated teacher must meet all Eligibility and Selection requirements

Cannot be a professional bridge player or a published author

To be considered for the ABTA Teacher of the Year award, you must be an ABTA member. If you are not an ABTA member, please go to the ABTA homepage (abtahome.com) and join.

Teacher’s Form

Deadline for submissions: June 1, 2026

Once all submissions have been received, the Teacher of the Year Committee works together to narrow down the nominations to a group of finalists, using the established criteria to make their decisions.

When the committee has decided on the finalists, all of the finalists are contacted and invited to attend the ABTA Annual Conference. All of the finalists are honored at a special Teacher of the Year ceremony at the ABTA Annual Conference, and the winner of the Teacher of the Year Award is announced.
